“The present study was designed to investigate Rv2623 antigen, a major dormancy regulon protein of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) in CSF of suspected latent and active tuberculousmeningitis

(TBM) patients. Atotal of 100 CSF samples from TBM(n = 31), suspected latent TBM(n = 22), and suitable noninfectious control subjects (n = 47) were collected and evaluated for Rv2623 antigen level using ELISA protocol. A significantly high (P < 0.05) mean absorbance was observed in samples of suspected latent TBM and active TBM patients as compared to non-TBM control patients. However, no significant CA4P concentration difference in Rv2623 level was observed between suspected latent TBM and TBM patients. Our preliminary findings suggest that Rv2623 may be useful

as a potential biomarker for the diagnosis of the latent as well as active TBM infection. Futher evaluation of this biomarker in large number of samples is therefore needed to confirm the result.”
“Aims: In this review metabolomics is introduced in historic perspective, with key platforms and bioinformatics methodologies described. An overview is provided see more covering recent applications of metabolomics and lipidomics in the context of human physiology, lipid metabolism and nutrition.

Data synthesis: Global coverage of human metabolome requires application of multiple analytical platforms. The choice of a particular targeted or non-targeted analytical strategy depends on the hypothesis tested, state-of-the-art in the field, as well as on sample availability. Human metabolome has been shown to be sensitive to age, gut microbial composition, and lifestyle. Several studies have shown that, given the appropriate experimental design, subtle effects of interventions such as change of diet or weight loss can be detected by metabolomics and Oligomycin A cost studied in the context of human physiology and health status.

Conclusion: Metabolome provides a sensitive intermediate phenotype linking the genotype, gut microbial composition

and personal health status. Innovative experimental designs combined with novel computational tools for handling metabolomics data offer new opportunities for early disease detection as well as for characterization of dietary and therapeutic interventions in the context of human physiology. “Lectin-like oxidized low density lipoprotein receptor-1 (LOX-1), the main oxidized low-density lipoprotein (OxLDL) in endothelial cells, is upregulated in atherosclerotic lesions and is involved in several cellular processes that regulate the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. The LOX-1 expressed on the cell surface can be proteolytically cleaved and released in a soluble form(sLOX-1) in the circulation under pathological conditions.
